In March, Saks Fifth Avenue Men's Collection Launches Father's Day Honors Contest. Twenty-two Saks Fifth Avenue stores across the country were searching for role model dads who are making a positive impact through their style, generosity and dedication to their families and communities. In June, Charlie Chen, CEO of DFW Technology, without his knowing that he has been nominated, was chosen to one of the three role model dads to receive The Dallas Father’s Day Honors. June 12th, three honorees were celebrated at a June ceremony and shopping event sponsored by Saks Fifth Avenue Men’s Collection in Dallas.

Charlie was nominated by his eldest daughter, Carol Chen, who was asked the question in this contest, "Why does the father I am nominating deserve to receive the Father's Day Honors?" The stories and anecdotes shared by Carol touch the heart and are selected through intense competition.

“Whenever someone asks me who my role model is, I never hesitate to say it is my amazing dad. Growing up in rural Taiwan, my father could have very well become a rice farmer, but instead he studied incessantly and was accepted to the top university in the country. Upon graduating and serving in the National Army for few years, my father immigrated to the United States with nothing but a few thousand dollars, a scholarship for a masters degree, and a dream to give his future family a better life. It’s been 30 years since my father made that journey and indeed, it is a wonderful life that my family now enjoys because of his courage and sacrifices. Having started successful IT service and real estate companies, my siblings and I have had the luxury to travel the world and attend the best colleges in the nation without having the burden of school loans. And although my father is always extremely busy with his business and community obligations, his wife and 3 kids are his top priority so he always makes time to take family trips twice a year so that we can spend quality time together. My siblings and I love to talk to my father on a regular basis (he will pick up our calls even when he’s in a meeting), and he has never failed to be there for us and give us his support, guidance, and love. As well as being the best dad in the world, my father is a great businessman, a dedicated community leader, and a wonderful, compassionate person. He and his company have received numerous local and national awards for their successes, and he has served as a Board Member, President, and Advisor for over 10 charitable organizations. He is extremely passionate about helping others and serving the community, and he frequently volunteers his time and makes financial contributions to help make Dallas a better place for everyone. I sincerely believe that my father deserves The Saks Father’s Day Honors because he truly embodies all the qualities a great dad and man should be. And while most first-generation Asian-Americans encourage their children to take on more traditional careers such as law or medicine, it is because of the encouragement and financial support of my father that I am now a successful fashion designer. On top of everything, I have to say that my father is one of the most stylish men I know, and I feel extremely lucky to have inherited his business as well as fashion sense. As his eldest daughter, I will always be extremely grateful to have such a wonderful role model, friend, and mentor like him in my life.”

News Release: January 3, 2005 @ Richardson, Texas, USA

DFW Technology is proud to announce that as of November 30, 2004, Dallas/Fort Worth Technology, Inc. (dba DFW Technology) was issued a certificate of compliance to the standards of the ISO 9001:2000 for the Quality Management System as a “Corporate IT Service Provider, no design”, by the American International Registrars Corporation, in Ventura, California.

DFW Technology LMT (Leadership Management Team) decided to establish the formal quality assurance program back in year 2000. During the year of 2004 Global QA, based in Oxnard, California was hired as external consultant in helping DFW Technology to prepare the Quality Management Manuals. DFW Technology also established a Quality Management Team, which included Quality System Manager, Coordinator, and internal Auditors. The team was appointed by President/CEO Charlie W. After months of developing processes and procedures, creating and implementing an internal audit system, and ISO 9000 training throughout the company we have reached our goal.
